It was given Him to make war with the saints. Revelation 13:7
And cause as many as would not worship the beast should be killed. Revelation 13:15
Q15 Why does religion play so great a part in Satan’s plan?
Every human being has within him or herself the desire to worship something or somebody. Satan capitalises on this faculty that is within the human mind, in order to deceive people into giving him the adulation he craves. Worship also has embodied within it, not just a sense of admiration but a yielding to a higher authority and serving that power. This is what Satan is seeking for he has seen this worship, service and obedience being given to the Creator God, and he seeks it for himself.
Religion can be used psychologically as a unifying device. In the persecution of the early Christians by the Romans all that was required was that they placed a pinch of incense on the Roman altar. Although just a token religious symbol it was to be done publicly and by all, showing a common unity and solidarity as a people. To refuse this simple act meant death. Peer pressure in worship became a powerful influence.
Later when the Roman Empire was becoming weaker, and fragmenting into many national units, Sunday was chosen as day of worship for all, with worship of the sun gods for the pagans and as a commemoration of the resurrection of Christ for Christians. It was seen as something acceptable to all peoples - and was enforced by law. The policy was that an empire that worshipped in unity, would have a strong and unified trading base too. Dissenters who observed the seventh day Sabbath of the Creator God had to flee to secluded places and many faced death.
Religion therefore, has been used already as a political tool at different stages of the development of the Roman power.
Q16 Thirdly, in addition to human agents and political powers, whom else does Satan use to complete his plan of an entire world takeover?
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:14,15.
Q17 Who are the ministers of Satan?
2:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:9
Q18 How does the Bible describe the churches that have been infiltrated by evil angels?
Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird. Revelation 18:1-4
NOTE: The prediction made by spiritualists about 1930 was that the churches would be saturated with the spirit. Do not become confused by this. They did not mean the Holy Spirit, but the spirit guides. It has been fulfilled as predicted, and in such a deceptive way. The churches are filled with charismatic phenomena, mind altering music, psychic signs such as speaking in tongues and healings, hypnotism, miracles, signs and wonders.
Sadly the evil one has been entirely successful in making people think it is the Spirit of God. Generally it is thought that this is a Christian development, but occult literature |
