[accompanied by the bangs, rumblings and gratings of a tortured earth], great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire. Isaiah 29:6
NOTE: We hear overhead thunder and lightening as electrical explosions, earthquakes rumble, storm and tempest roar and whine, out of control fire crackles and roars with crashing sounds as thing in its path collapse. Trees fall and buildings crash. The Second Advent of Jesus will not be a silent or secret event. It will envelope the whole world as every eye will behold these events, and everyone alive on the earth will see or be involved.
In the midst of all this noise will be heard the songs of those who are called to life by the Saviour, who is the resurrection and the life. ‘Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.’ Isaiah 26:9
Things that will be felt:
And there was a great earthquake [with all its jolts and jumps and movements] such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. Revelation 16:18
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: 2 Thessalonians 4:17
NOTE: As we rise into the air to be with the Lord forever we shall feel our feet lifting off the earth, and all the noise and destruction being left behind. All that will be felt then will be joy and gladness. Isn’t it worth choosing to be on the side of the Lord to yield to Him and obey Him in this time of preparation?
Q12 In the context of good and evil, for what purpose will Jesus come the second time?
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. Revelation 19:11-14
NOTE: The challenge has been posed before all heaven and earth, Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him? Revelation 13:4. Now God Himself answers this question, as the armies of heaven ride forth. God has allowed evil to reach its fullness and He can rightfully step in to intervene to bring it all to an end. ‘He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation’. Isaiah 25:8 God is victorious over the blasphemous challenges of His opponents. His followers are delivered.
Q13 What words in the song of Moses emphasise the glorious victory and vindication of God?
Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Exodus 15:11
NOTE: Satan had said, I will be like the Most High. He has used agents for his work against the people of God in the world. First through Egypt when Pharaoh the enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil, I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. In later years Satan has used Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome, followed by Papal Rome. Satan is behind all the agencies working towards a One World government for the completion of his plan to take over the world as his kingdom. At the Second Coming of Jesus the contrast between the two kingdoms is entirely clear.
