There are no secret decisions. The ‘book of remembrance’ is where many little things are recorded and not forgotten. Here is an example. Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? Psalm 56:8 God sees and knows everything about our lives. A careful reading about the ‘book of remembrance’ shows that there will be a time when God will have made up all His jewels. This will be one of the results of the judgement. A time is coming when all those of all ages who have supported Jesus will be known and revealed - “ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:5. This refers to the Second Coming of Jesus, and demonstrates that the judgement will take place some time after our death, but prior to the Second Coming of Jesus.
Q6 What does Jesus promise will happen at His Second Coming?
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Revelation 22:12.
NOTE: If Jesus brings the rewards with Him this shows that a judgement has taken place, all cases have been investigated and a verdict reached, so that sentences and rewards can be given at that time. The second coming of Jesus is actually another phase of judgement. Sometimes the Bible calls all these events, the Day of the Lord.
Q7 Are there any other books in heaven that the Bible speaks of?
And I entreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow-labourers, whose names are in the book of life. Philippians 4:3
Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life. Revelation 20:12
And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. Exodus 32:32,33.
NOTE: The book of life is the book where all the names of those who have professed to be supporters of Christ are placed. Paul spoke of his missionary friends—’my fellow-labourers, whose names are in the book of life’. Our names can either be written in it by God, or blotted out by God. Another example is Moses who loved the rebellious people of Israel so much that he requested of God that if they were to be blotted out, then he wanted to be blotted out with them, but God reminded Moses that it was those who had sinned against God who would be removed. Moses had not sinned.
Q8 Whose names will not be blotted out of the book of life?
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5
NOTE: The names that remain in the book of life at the close of the judgement will be the jewels that God has made up. He will have a full tally and none will have been overlooked. God’s recording is very precise.
Q9 What other details about us are recorded in a book in heaven?
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written. Psalm. 139:16.
NOTE: He knows all the details of our physical self. This is recorded right from the time we are conceived in the womb, so even little unborn babies that have had life are known to God and recorded in His book. We are known as we are developing. So after we have died God will not lose one person.
