At-a-glance …

Jesus is God

Jesus is both Creator and Lawgiver.

We broke His law

He died to take our penalty.

We can be free.

We can have life

What love.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  John 1:3

NOTE:  John 1:14 shows us that this is referring to Jesus—’And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us’.  This was when Jesus came as a baby.

Q5 What other verses tell us that it was Jesus who created our world?

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:  who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.  Colossians 1:12-17

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:  Ephesians 3:9

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;  Hebrews 1:1,2

And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:  Hebrews 1:10

Q6 As well as being the Creator of our world, how else has Jesus been at work in our world?

Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.  Thou art the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham  Nehemiah 9:6,7

And didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red sea;  And showedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as it is this day.  And thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.  Moreover thou leddest them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way wherein they should go.  Nehemiah 9:9-12

Q7  According to Scripture, who was it who gave the Ten Commandments in written form to our world?

Thou [the Creator referred to in the previous verses] camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:  And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath.   Nehemiah 9:13,14

NOTE:  It was Jesus who created all things, He did the miracles in Egypt, He was the one who opened a dry way through the Red Sea, He was the one who gave the Ten Commandments in their complete and written form.
