Q1 Who is God?
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:8
Q2 When a person becomes a Christian by baptism what is the seal or authority of that baptism?
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:19
NOTE 1: This shows that we have one God, but God makes Himself known to us as - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but yet they are always one. The son is Jesus.
At this point human language and understanding reaches its limits. Most religions will accept a God or a divinity, along with a spirit or spirits, but the uniqueness of the Christian way is Jesus Christ. Many teach today that Christianity must change or die. i.e. Jesus Christ must be taken out of the way, leaving only the qualities that are expected of today’s Christian—kindness, tolerance, respect, love.
It is also acceptable today in religion in general, to have a spirit influence, whether it be charismatic or occult, western or eastern. The inter-faith movement must remove Jesus if its aim to unite East and West in religious understanding is to be successful. There is an enemy at work bringing this desire to a climax. The attack is on Jesus.
The Bible reveals that:
- Jesus is God, Emmanuel—God with us. Matthew 1:23;
- Jesus is Jehovah—I and my father are one. John 10:30 He referred to Himself as the I AM on a number of occasions and the Jews took up stones to stone Him.
- Jesus is the Creator of all things—All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made John 1:1-3;
- Jesus is our Lawgiver from the beginning, later with formality on Sinai.
- Jesus is the Mighty God and Everlasting Father—For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given ...The mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6; The world is seeking peace, - Jesus is the Prince of peace.
- Jesus is our Saviour from our sins, our redeemer—He bought back this world from Satan.
- Jesus is our High Priest.
- Jesus is coming back to make an end of all evil, and of all His enemies, prior to recreating the world and beginning again.
