Truth For Today Bible Study Course

At a glance …

Satan proposed an alternative

To be fair and transparent God allows it to run.

All can then choose

God promises full support for those who ask for it.

He came and lived here like us.

At the fullness of evil God will bring it to an end.

NOTE:  Adam and Eve heeded and obeyed the words of Satan and thereby involved the human race in this contest.

Q20 What has been the role of Jesus in this struggle?

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.  Hebrews 2:14,15.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.  Hebrews 4:15,16

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.  Psalm 90:10-12

NOTE:  We have each been given a lifespan between 70-80 years to consider whose side we will take.  Life is not easy during that time both with physical ills, mental fears and the temptations of Satan.  Jesus came and lived our life to be able to give us all the support we need.

Q21 How do we know that God cares for us?

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.  Hebrews 2:18

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  1 Corinthians 10:13

NOTE:  Satan attacked Christ mentally and physically.  He demanded worship of Him, but Jesus resisted the temptations by the same power that He can give to us.  Satan hates God and He will attack those made in the image of God in any way He chooses.  God does not allow us to be tempted more than we can cope with, along with His strength.

Q22 What invitation does God give to us?

The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.  O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.  Psalm 34:7,8

NOTE:  God gives a choice.  We can see the increasing evil, but He offers us a way through it.

Q23 What does God promise?

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.  Revelation 21:4,5.

Q24 Who will be the ones who will share this good experience?

The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.  Psalm 145:20

If ye love me, keep my commandments John 14:15

Enter thou into the joy of thy lord.  Matthew 25:23
