Q15 Why else does God say He is waiting?
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; 2 Peter 3:9,10
NOTE: God will destroy evil but He loves those who have been made in His image. The Bible calls it His strange act. ‘He shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.’ Isaiah 28:21
Q16 What aim does Satan have beyond a political rulership?
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 2 Thessalonians 2:4
NOTE: Satan desires all the world to worship him instead of God. Worship in the Bible is not just adoration but means yielding to God, obeying God and serving Him. ‘Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. ‘ Daniel 3:28 This verse shows the four things that form the basis of worship
- To yield,
- To trust
- To serve
- To obey.
Worship is connected with one being worthy of this response. God has proved Himself worthy. He is trustworthy and loving. He also gives us the choice of whether we wish to make Him the ruler of our lives or not. Satan has done not one good thing for a single person or for the world itself, and allows no choices.
Q17 How does Satan plan to obtain the worship He demands?
That the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. Revelation 13
Revelation13 clearly shows Satan’s complete plan for this obtaining this worship. Revelation 13-14 are worth reading as a unit. The worship Satan demands will be enforced by civil authorities, and will involve powers and religious institutions with which we are all familiar. Satan does not mind if this worship comes from an intellectual assent to his aims or whether it is offered because it is convenient and avoids the threatened penalties. Those who worship him will in some way receive a mark that will appear to exempt them from the penalties of not worshipping in Satan’s way.
Q18 How close is the time for these events? How long will the misery of this world continue?
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Matthew 24:33
NOTE: Jesus has been speaking of wars, rumours of wars, famine, pandemics, false prophets, false Christs, and the sea roaring. Today all these things are happening.
Q19 If this quarrel is between God and Satan why do human beings have to suffer?
