Q4 What name do both Jesus and the Bible have in common?
I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 1:9
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. Revelation19:11-13
Q5 How important is the word of God, the Bible to us?
That he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
Deuteronomy 8:3
Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. 2 Chronicles 20:20
The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63
NOTE: The emphasis of the Bible itself, is as the prophetic word of God. It is the gathering together of God’s revealed words to humanity. It is through the words of the Bible that God communicates with us.
Q6 What sign does God give to indicate that a prophet is a false prophet?
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously. Deuteronomy 18:22
Q7 Sometimes a false prophet speaks even with signs and wonders. How can we know from the words that it is false?
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Deuteronomy 13:1,2.
