Q1 How did the process of victory over sin begin?
Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden, and the Lord God called unto him and said, where art thou? Genesis 3:8,9
For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life, for God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved, John 3:16,17
And she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for He shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. Unto you first God, having raised his Son Jesus, sent Him to bless you in turning away everyone of you from his iniquities. Acts 3:25
NOTE: God took the initiative. In love He went and found Adam and Eve. He told them the results of what they had done, but also gave them the promise of One who could set them free and restore them, and would destroy the devil. For the human beings who had sinned, victory over sin began with God’s love. It was not that they resolved not to do it again.
Q2 Who was Jesus?
Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign, Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Is 7:14
And they shall call his name Emmanuel , which being interpreted is, God with us.
NOTE: In His great love for His creation and for the human race who were created and handmade by God, God Himself took the initiative to reach out to us in our sin and guilt. He did not condemn us, but actually came to live with us and experience our struggles. |
