Q13 What role does Jesus take on our behalf?
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 1 John 2:1
NOTE: Jesus stands as our go-between with Our holy, heavenly Father. Jesus died to save us and so He is worthy to take this position.
Q14 Are there any others who mediate for us with God?
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, 1 Timothy 2:5,6.
Q15 What is God’s desire for us?

NOTE: It was sin, breaking the commandment of God, that caused the problems in our world in the first place. God is working with us to restore us. He wants us to choose not to dishonour God, but to live free from disobedience.
Q16 When we try to live a different life, we often make weak human resolutions, and fail time and again. What is it that God shares with us to make overcoming possible?
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
NOTE: The Gospel is the good news of a power, that we do not have, to help us overcome those sins which we keep repeating.
Q17 What does God make with us so that we can benefit from his power?
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Hebrews 10:16,17.
NOTE: God makes a covenant and places us within its confines.
- We look to Him by faith for His power to help us to overcome sin and to be obedient;
- He pours His faithfulness upon us in love, forgiveness, and all the power we need to keep us from falling.
Q18 Now, instead of our poor resolutions, God makes the promises. God keeps His promises. What does Jude 24, 25 say that He can do for us?
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for ever. Amen.
Q19 What else has God placed within us to encourage us to break free?
