Q1 Why do we need help from God to gain victory over evil?
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. Psalm 103:13,14.
And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. Mark 6:34
Q2 By what comforting words does Jesus describe Himself?
I am the good shepherd. John 10:11
Q3 How much help does God promise to us so that we can walk in good paths?
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. 2 Peter 1:3
Q4 In our personal struggle to do the right thing and to overcome those things which we know are not good, how complete is the help God has promised us?
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 2 Corinthians 9:8
NOTE: The help that God gives is full and complete. There is no text in the Bible more generous than this. He gives us all grace, so that we have full resources for all situations so that we can be overflowing in doing the right thing. This text tells us that not only does God wish to do this for us, but He is able to, He has the power to ensure our success in living a new and good life.
Q5 In practical terms where do we find this assistance that we need?
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16,17
NOTE: The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, was given us by God to provide us |
